Malin is a Patent Attorney at Groth & Co, specialising in Life Science with a particular focus on biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical technology. She combines deep scientific expertise with commercial understanding and works with innovations and inventions within fields such as biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, and immunology.
As an adviser in patent and design matters, Malin helps companies and researchers protect and develop their ideas in a strategic and long-term way. She drafts and prosecutes patent applications, develops patent strategies, and conducts novelty searches, patentability assessments, and portfolio analyses. Malin also has extensive experience in licence negotiations, patent monitoring, and handling potential infringement matters.
With a structured approach and strong client focus, Malin manages both patent and design cases from concept to completion. Her advice is characterised by precision, commitment, and a clear understanding of how intellectual assets contribute to business success.
Malin holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Stockholm University and conducted postdoctoral research at Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University, focusing on neuroscience, cell and molecular biology, and biochemistry. Before entering the IP profession, she worked as a Senior Researcher at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine and Surgery (CMMK).
With experience from several Swedish IP firms – both large and boutique – Malin combines her scientific background with a strong understanding of business value, innovation, and strategic IP consultancy.
