(Publ. 27 OCT 2015) On September 18, the Gambia joined the Madrid Protocol and by that became the 96th member of the Madrid System. The relevant treaty will enter into force on December 18, 2015.

This system provides trademark owners the possibility to apply for trademark protection through one administrative process in multiple jurisdictions around the world and in one language, which is also more cost-effective.
