(Publ. 25 OCT 2013) On October 24th, we arranged together with ECTA a workshop on the “IP Translator” case. The ruling implies a change in the European trademark law practice. The ruling has changed and a stricter approach applies in terms of the scope of protection. Trademark owners therefore need to be more accurate with how they specify their goods. We were to listen to various aspects from Magnus Ahlgren, Legal Affairs Design & Trademark Department, Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV), Carl Wendt, Senior Trademark Attorney, Electrolux, ECTA Council Member, Mats Lundberg, Head of Law & Trademark Dept, Groth & Co, and ECTA Council Member.
Have a look at the pictures below from the workshop.
