Jamaica joins the Madrid Protocol

On December 27th, Jamaica joined the Madrid Protocol, becoming the 110th member of the Madrid System. The treaty for Jamaica will enter into force on March 27th, 2022.

The Madrid system (Madrid Protocol) for the international registration of trademarks is the primary international system for facilitating the registration of trademarks in multiple jurisdictions around the world. The advantage of this system is that it is possible to apply for trademark protection through one administrative process which is also more cost-effective.
