Indonesia joins the Madrid Protocol

On October 2, Indonesia joined the Madrid Protocol, becoming the 100th member of the Madrid System. The treaty will enter into force on January 2, 2018.

This system provides applicants with the possibility to apply for trademark registrations through one specific administrative process in 116 jurisdictions around the world. Since the application can be filed for several countries and in one single language, and payment only has to be made for one set of fees in one currency, the process is very cost-effective. If you have any questions concerning trademark protection, please feel welcome to contact one of our consultants at the Law and Trademark Dept., +46 8 729 91 00 or .
