Mathias is a senior patent consultant, specializing in electrical engineering, IT, medical technology, antenna tend microwave technology. Mathias is an adviser on IP strategies to optimize clients’ position and returns from their IP portfolio based on their unique conditions, analyses in conjunction with Due Diligence processes, freedom-to-operate investigations, licensing, infringements and validations. Mathias is our contact person for the American market.
Within the medical technology field, Mathias has extensive experience in pacemaker technology and radiation therapy. Mathias has advised clients as patent and technical expert in patent lawsuits in Swedish courts as well as in courts in France and Germany. He has also advised as patent and technical expert in arbitration proceedings in Sweden. Mathias has extensive experience from oral proceedings before the Opposition Division and Board of Appeals at the EPO.
Mathias is a member of the Groth & Co Board of Directors and a member of the Management Team.
Mathias has advised private equity companies and investment companies, including Investor, in a large number of transactions involving, for example, medical technology companies. Mathias has advised Philips in patent infringement proceedings at Swedish courts. Mathias worked during several years as patent advisor to a Swedish start-up company within the telecom field to create a patent portfolio and patent strategy that significantly increased the value of the company. The project was successfully concluded in 2012 with an acquisition of the company by an international telecom company.
